Straight from the horses mouth - one of the creators of Coono Babe speaks out about what compelled her to start this brand:

I am a beauty product junkie. On my way back from one of many trips to Sephora, I had a startling encounter with reality. I looked at the small itty-bitty bag of stuff I had bought and couldn't believe the few things packed in that little bag cost me over $300. I had barely bought anything at all!

I was a college student at the time - which is synonymous for being broke. Now I had to budget myself for the rest of the month because I had spent so much on makeup. So there I was, sitting at home with my bag of makeup - I couldn't go out because thanks to overpriced makeup, I couldn't afford to. Obviously things had to change.

I tried to make the switch to drugstore makeup. I tried everything, even the $1 stuff at mass discount stores and online. I was sorely disappointed. The lack in quality was obvious. There had to be something in the middle. Something for women who didn't want to pay Sephora-like prices but wanted the same type of quality products.

...the birth of Coono Babe

After much hard work, Coono Babe was born. We went through hell and high water finding suppliers that met our stringent standards. Not only did pricing have to be economical, but everything had to be sourced and made in the USA.

Albert, co-creator of Coono Babe talks about Coono Babe manufacturing policies.

My background is in engineering and manufacturing. Having extensive experience in outsourcing manufacturing to China, I knew that the cost savings did not make up for the dip in quality. We decided that any manufacturing would be done in the USA exclusively.

Coonobabe brand products needed to meet the following criteria:

• Made in the USA (not only for quality, but also to generate jobs here and keep the wealth here)
• Quality, look and feel of higher priced products (but priced for consumers that are budget minded)

There is nothing smart or sexy about being broke. Beauty products are typically priced sky high. What are you paying for? Designer branding, packaging, and excessive CEO salaries. Our advise: pay yourself first and buy smart.
